How you use these videos depends upon the individual's needs. Viewing can be both interactive, with parents or teachers working with the individual, or the individual can watch the video with minimal supervision.

Hygiene, Chores and Dressing Videos
When introducing these three (3) videos, you may first find it helpful to show a series of one desired task and then have the individual repeat the task with your assistance. Full physical assistance may be needed at first. While doing this, also be sure to use the verbal cues as heard on the video, making sure to always give positive reinforcement. At your discretion, begin to reduce the physical assistance and verbal cues. The ultimate goal is for all physical assistance and verbal cues to cease so that the individual can complete the tasks independently. The video then can be used to reinforce the learned task when needed.

"What?" and "Where?", "Who?" and "Which?", "Whose?" and "How many?" Videos
When introducing these three (3) videos, you may first find it helpful to sit and observe the individual's reaction to the questions being asked on the video. If the individual does not respond or does not respond appropriately to the question being asked, you may want to respond for them along with pointing to the answer on the television screen. Try to have the individual imitate your response. Always give positive reinforcement when teaching these responses. You may only need to repeat a scene once or twice or you may need to repeat scenes numerous times to obtain the correct answer. Once you feel that the individual is beginning to understand the process of answering questions, you may be able to begin to ask similar questions in your home or school environment to see if the individual can consistently answer the questions. You may also use scenes from the videos to make up and ask new questions, providing the individual with the correct answer.
